WordCamp Hong Kong 2009

WordCamp Hong Kong 2009, held at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park on April 5, 2009, was the first ever WordCamp in Hong Kong. It was organized by Bonnie Cheung and Edith Yeung for blogging enthusiasts, WordPress users, and developers. The event featured a diverse schedule of sessions and activities aimed at fostering knowledge sharing and community engagement.

The conference was opened with an introduction by the organizers. Matt Mullenweg, the founder of Automattic and a key developer of WordPress, delivered a keynote address “State of the Word”.

Sessions included the “WordPress Starter Kit”, “Coolest Blog Contest”, “Secrets of Blogging”, and “Multi-Author Management on WordPress”. The event also featured an interview with Matt Mullenweg conducted by Thomas Crampton.
